RSA named a first stage winner in national design competition

A team of RSA students lead by Professor Gordon Wittenberg has been announced as stage one winners in the Parks for the People competition, a joint effort by the Van Alen Institute’s Projects in Public Architecture and the U.S. National Park Service. The intent of their winning proposal is to develop the architecture of future national parks using the Valles Caldera National Preserve in New Mexico as a prototype. The project will continue to develop this spring in a sophomore studio taught by Wittenberg and Professor Douglas Oliver. Next fall the work of the studio will be presented at the Park Service National headquarters in Washington D.C. and will become part of a national traveling exhibit.
