The Hangout - A Student-Designed Installation"
The Hangout is an installation based on a winning entry from the Rice School of Architecture's charette last October and will include 12 moveable canvas hammocks between 14 steel poles embedded beneath the trees, in a small grove to make place for members of the Rice community to read, chat, teach or contemplate. The winning team consisted of architecture students Ethan Chan, Toshiki Niimi, Mitch Mackowiak, Andrew Bertics, electrical engineering student Yoseph Maguire, and sociology major Geneva Vest.
