Falon Mihalic is an interdisciplinary artist and licensed landscape architect with a deep knowledge of the plants and ecosystems of the Gulf Coast. Her practice encompasses a variety of project types from climate resilient landscape design for municipal agencies to permanent public art commissions and community parks. Her work has won numerous public art and design awards including support from the Houston Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, the Kaboom Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Her recent international talk, “Art as a Tool for Data Expression: Bayou Beacon”, at the Prague City Data Congress and the Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning in Prague highlighted Houston’s bayous as resilient green infrastructure.
