Profile

Rachel Julia Engler is a doctoral candidate in art history at Columbia University. Her dissertation considers the facilities and media complexes associated with television evangelists, with a particular focus on Oral Roberts University, a Tulsa, Oklahoma institution founded by the eponymous Charismatic Christian televangelist. Recent publications include the translation, together with Reto Geiser, of Sigfried Giedion's Befreites Wohnen (Lars Müller, 2019) and the chapter "To Holland: Frank Lloyd Wright's Urbanism in Postwar Rotterdam," in Architektur und Akteure: Praxis und Öffentlichkeit in der Nachkriegsgesellschaft (transcript Verlag, 2018). Rachel received an M.Phil. and M.A. at Columbia University, and a B.A. from Yale University.
