This seminar course will look at how our basic tools, drawings and models, can be used in the design process not so much as means of representation, but as tools for speculation. The essence of the course will be a series of exercises to explore the possibilities of different tools and media, and how they can further the design process. In parallel, we will survey the development of tools and media through the modern history of architectural education and practice. Please consult postings for further information. Space is limited, and registration does not guarantee a space in this course. The final course roster will be formulated on the first day of class by the instructor. Open only to architecture majors.
