Visiting Critic

Profile

Brandie Lockett is a visiting critic at Rice University School of Architecture. She is also the urban design lead for the Houston METRO Planning, Engineering, and Construction and Urban Design Division, a people-first area focused on transforming transit environments and developing best-practice transit design standards, including the Transit Environment Programming Catalog and Houston METRO’s first Urban Design Manual since 1989.

Before working at Houston METRO, Lockett spent five years as a senior urban designer at Gensler Los Angeles’s Urban Design Studio, helping shape sites of all scales and collaborating with agencies and organizations to create more resilient, livable, and healthy places.
