For more than forty years, the Architectural League of New York’s Emerging Voices and League Prize competitions have recognized designers across North America with distinct visions and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. This panel gathers alumni of both competitions working in the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio areas to share their subsequent career trajectories, including current projects, in a multigenerational conversation moderated by architect and 2003 League Prize recipient and 2009 Emerging Voice Stella Betts of the design firm LEVENBETTS.
The League Prize (LP) is a juried portfolio competition organized around a theme for young architects and designers who have been out of school for ten or fewer years.
Emerging Voices (LP) is an invited competition for North American firms and individuals with distinct design voices and significant bodies of realized work.
The Architectural League of New York supports critically transformative work in the allied fields that shape the built environment. As a vital, independent forum, the league stimulates thinking, debate, and action on today’s converging crises of racism, inequity, and climate change, in service of a more livable and just world.
