Jenny Jones approaches landscape design as an active, ecological process. Informed by environmental science and a background in teaching, her work prioritizes native systems, local materials, and hands-on site stewardship. She approaches gardens as living, interconnected ecosystems spanning private residences, school grounds, and public parks. Her projects emphasize low-impact water strategies, regional flora, and long-term land care over ornamental perfection.
Jones is a partner at Terremoto in Los Angeles. She earned degrees in environmental studies, landscape architecture, and urban planning from the University of Virginia. Earlier in her career at OLIN and RIOS, she managed campus landscapes at UCLA, the redesign of the Rose Garden at Descanso Gardens, and similar large-scale efforts. At Terremoto, she cofounded Test Plot, an ongoing community restoration experiment in Elysian Park, and she coleads the firm’s Land & Labor working group, which pushes for systemic ethics within the landscape industry.
