Please join Rice Architecture Construct for the opening reception of Six Projects on Accessory Dwelling on Thursday, August 30 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Six Projects on Accessory Dwelling is a pop-up exhibition of current research and building. Experience +House a 350 square foot secondary dwelling built by students from the Rice Architecture Construct program for Agape, a Third Ward outreach program. Learn about Accessory, five speculative proposals for garage apartments prototyped at the Moody from Assistant Professor of Architecture Andrew Colopy's Totalization studio. Discover how a type of informal housing is being adapted to address issues of affordability, sustainability, and social change.

Construct, Rice Architecture's design-build program led by Assistant Professor Andrew Colopy and Professor in the Practice Danny Samuels, challenges students to contribute directly to the built environment, working with community partners to create projects with lasting effects and resources for those they serve while building knowledge through research and experience.

This pop-up exhibition is on view in the Moody's Creative Open Studio through September 22, 2018.
