Join us for the launch of Sphere 01, the Rice School of Architecture’s annual publication documenting the school’s events, programs, and scholarly reach. Building on the success of Sphere 0 in 2024, this year’s volume continues to expand the school’s curatorial and editorial platform, capturing the breadth of its teaching, research, and public programming.
Edited by Professor in the Practice Nathan Friedman and designed by Experimental Jetset, Sphere 01 is organized into five sections: Planetary Practice, Design Research, Conversations, Roundup, and the Houston Archive Project. Each section offers a distinct perspective on architecture’s capacity to address planetary and civic challenges. The Houston Archive Project’s second edition features The Notational Surface by Iwan Baan with an accompanying essay by Clare Lyster.
