ARCH 550: Intermed/Adv Architecture Seminar
The course is a small seminar designed to give architecture students the space to experiment with furniture and object design, and to understand how its faster turn-around times and relationship to fabrication make it differ from architecture's mode of design. Work will be collaborative and advanced primarily through model-making.
In this first iteration of the course, we will be designing outdoor furniture for the Grove area on Rice campus, in collaboration with the Lynn R. Lowrey Arboretum, with the possibility that some of the designs will be fabricated after the conclusion of the seminar.
