Nicola Springer, AIA, LEED AP, is an Executive Vice President and the Director of pK-12 Projects at Kirksey Architecture. With over 22 years of educational design experience, Nicola believes that architecture and the process of design should inspire creativity, engage all users, and promote a sustainable, healthy and happy existence.
Nicola is an award winning architect – she has been a recipient of AIA Houston’s Ben Brewer Young Architect Award and the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. Her educational work has also received many accolades including multiple AIA Houston Design Awards and the prestigious TASA/TASB Caudill Award for Texas School Architecture as well as Preservation Houston Good Brick Award for Milby High School
A resident of Houston since graduate school at Rice University, Nicola has been an active participant and on the Board of Directors for Houston AIA, RDA and other Architectural, Art and Community organizations. Through her professional and volunteer work has gained unique and broad insight into the built fabric of Houston.
Nicola has spoken professionally on the influences and advances of 21st century education at Regional and National Conferences including A4LE National, Gulf Coast Green, The Green School National Conference and the TxA Annual Convention.
