This course is an introduction to architectural knowledge. It focuses on the concepts, events, traditions, practices, places, projects, and works extant before 1890 that have exercised a significant influence on the subsequent discourse and production of architecture and urbanism.
This course is required for all students in the undergraduate program and Option 2 students in the graduate program. Enrollment of other students is welcomed but may be limited based on availability and approval of the instructor. Cross-list: HART 345
