This seminar explores contemporary trends in micro-housing and co-living alongside the software infrastructure that are being developed to manage them. Changes in zoning code, growth of adult single households and co-living arrangements, and the proliferation of life-management apps have led to an explosion interest housing typology. Smart House will explore and critique this housing type, which is being updated and renewed with attention from several sectors. I plan to structure the seminar around documentation and production that could support a book-length publication exploring this new real-estate and architectural phenomena. Open to architecture students only, seniors and above. Space is limited and registration does not guarantee a space in this course. The final course roster is formulated on the first day of class by the individual instructor.
