Rice Architecture student team won prize for best design

The Rice Architecture student team Swim Good featuring Eric Kyle Cheung (B.A. '19), Taylor Li (B.A. '20), Haiming Wang (B.A. '20), Helene de Mello (B.A. '19), and Benson Xie (B.A. '20) took home the prize for best design from a student team at the Rice Design Alliance "Nexus—Activate Commerce" spring 2018 charrette. The students' winning proposal created a flexible system that adapted to the new conditions post-Harvey, which resulted in ample green space that continued Houston's initiative towards a green belt, an elevated conditioned floor, and unconditioned enclosed areas for a variety of uses including an Allen's Landing historical exhibition.
