Scott Key received his master of architecture from Rice University in 2015. Along with his business partner and fellow alumnus, Sam Brisendine, they founded Emergency Floor that manufactures light-weight, durable modular floor panels to be distributed in refugee camps all over the world. This outreach pursuit led them to found the non-profit Every Shelter which works to provide solutions for additional refugee needs.

Jacki Schaefer is the career and alumni specialist for Rice Architecture. After receiving her bachelor of architecture in 2009, she worked as a commercial architect and BIM instructor before becoming a professional photographer. She currently divides her time between the architecture school and her photography business.

Tête-à-Tête is directed by Aylin Nazli and Rose Wilkowski; this episode was produced by Carrie Li, Takudzwa Tapfuma, and Rose Wilkowski.

Special Thanks to Scott Key, Jacki Schaefer, Shawna Forney, Sarah Whiting, our fearless dean, and all that were involved.
