2011–Present

The Emergency Core is a self sufficient unit that provides the most basic needs for families in a disaster situation. It provides completely off-grid electricity, pure water, waste treatment, and secure storage, all in modest proportions. It is easily transported and erected, and becomes a versatile armature for families and communities to begin rebuilding. A single core unit accommodates two families, providing shared services and private space; as cores are aggregated together, power generation and water collection increase, and public spaces for eating and leisure activities emerge.
